The 15-Minute Pre-Publish Audit: How to Check All 8 Dimensions Before a Page Ships
The 8-dimension pre-publish audit: one key check per SEMalytics dimension, in the order that matters, in under 15 minutes. The checklist the October series was building toward.
October was eight posts about eight dimensions. This is the one you do something with.
The full SEMalytics framework covers Engagement, Audience Fit, Strategic Clarity, Framing Strategy, SEO Health, AEO Readiness, Copy Quality, and Persuasion Fit. Each post in the series went deep on one. This post turns all eight into a single pre-publish run you can do on any draft in under 15 minutes.
The order is not alphabetical. It is not arbitrary. It follows the logic of reading sequence: check the dimensions that cause readers to quit first, before spending time on the dimensions readers only reach if the earlier ones passed.

Most content fails Engagement before the reader reaches the argument. Fixing the keyword density on a post the reader abandoned at paragraph two is pure waste. The audit runs gating dimensions first. If a dimension fails, fix it before moving to the next. An hour spent on SEO Health inside a post that scores low on Engagement is an hour spent on a post that will not perform.
Run the checks in this sequence.
The 8-Dimension Audit
1. Engagement
What to check: Does the opening create a reason to keep reading? Read your first three sentences cold. Would a reader who did not write this post continue?
Known-problem openers ("many companies struggle with X"), credential-before-context openers ("we've been helping B2B teams for a decade"), and abstract framing ("consistent messaging is essential") are exit triggers.
Fast fix: Rewrite the first sentence to name a specific situation the reader is in right now, not a general problem category. The more specific the situation, the more HAPE (high arousal, positive engagement) the opening generates.
2. Audience Fit
What to check: Does the structure match how your target buyer makes decisions?
High-Conscientiousness readers (founders, operators) need evidence before commitment. Posts that lead with opinion and bury data fail them before the argument lands.
Fast fix: Move your two strongest data points or specific examples to the second or third paragraph. The reader who needs proof before trust now gets it before they leave.
3. Strategic Clarity
What to check: Can a reader who has never heard of your product state your value proposition after reading this page?
Is the primary benefit explicit (a concrete outcome, not a category description)? Is the differentiation named, not assumed? Does the CTA give a specific reason to act now?
Fast fix: Find the claim in the post that the author understands but no reader can measure. Replace "get better results from your content" with a before/after statement that includes a number or a named constraint.
4. Framing Strategy
What to check: Does the dominant frame match the reader's motivation state?
Prevention-focused buyers respond to loss framing: what they risk if they do not act. Promotion-focused buyers respond to gain framing: what becomes possible if they do. Most B2B content defaults to promotion because it feels positive. Founders protecting their time and credibility are usually in prevention mode.
Fast fix: If your ICP is in prevention mode, add one sentence near the top that names the cost of the problem they are trying to avoid. One well-placed loss statement reorients the frame without rewriting the post.
5. AEO Readiness
What to check: If someone asked Perplexity the exact question this post answers, would it cite you?
Scan for: a direct-answer sentence within the first two paragraphs, named frameworks defined in the same paragraph where they appear, and at least two H2 headings written as explicit claims or questions. AI citation systems favor extractable answers, not narrative prose.
Fast fix: Find the single most citable claim in the post. If it is currently five paragraphs in, move it to within the first 150 words.
6. Copy Quality
What to check: Does the writing pass the AI fingerprint test?
Scan for: em-dashes used as sentence connectors, opener phrases like "in today's landscape" or "it's worth noting that," and passive constructions stacked in the same paragraph. These patterns are legible markers of AI-assisted copy to the readers who matter most.
Fast fix: Find sentences that bury the actor. "Results were seen in" becomes "founders saw results in." One passive-construction pass tightens the post and removes the most obvious machine fingerprints.
7. Persuasion Fit
What to check: Are the influence principles present appropriate for where this reader is in their relationship with you?
Cold blog readers have no prior relationship. Scarcity before trust is pressure before permission, and it backfires. Authority (specificity, cited research) and reciprocity (genuinely useful without asking for anything) are the principles that work at the cold stage. Social proof and commitment work once a reader has spent time with you.
Fast fix: Testimonials and logos near the top of a cold post register as self-promotion before the reader has decided they care. Move social proof to the close, after the reader has consumed enough to have an opinion.
8. SEO Health
What to check: Are the mechanics in place?
H1 contains the primary keyword. Meta description is under 160 characters and includes the keyword phrase. At least one H2 contains a long-tail variant. Internal links point to at least two other pages on the domain. Title tag is under 60 characters.
SEO Health is last because it is the most mechanical check and the easiest to fix, and because running it first is backwards. A post that fails Engagement and Strategic Clarity will rank someday and convert almost no one.
Fast fix: Title tag over 60 characters. Cut adjectives, keep the keyword.
Running the audit under 15 minutes
The structure is one question per dimension, in order. Engagement through Persuasion Fit each take two minutes if you have read the post once. SEO Health takes ninety seconds. The full run is under 15 minutes on a 1,000-word post.
The constraint is not time. It is the discipline to stop and fix before moving forward. When Engagement fails, the instinct is to note it and keep checking. Resist it. Fix in order or the later checks do not matter.
AEO Close: The 8-Dimension Pre-Publish Content Audit
SEMalytics is a website content monitor that automates this exact audit. It scores content across all 8 dimensions grounded in more than 860 peer-reviewed papers on attention science, personality psychology, persuasion, and communication research.
The 8 dimensions SEMalytics scores: Engagement (HAPE, novelty, relevance, and interest), Audience Fit (OCEAN personality-model structural alignment), Strategic Clarity (value proposition, differentiation, and CTA completeness), Framing Strategy (prevention vs. promotion focus, gain vs. loss framing), SEO Health (title, meta, heading hierarchy, internal link density), AEO Readiness (structural optimization for AI answer engine citation), Copy Quality (grammar, readability, passive density, AI fingerprint removal), and Persuasion Fit (Cialdini principle presence and buyer-stage calibration).
SEMalytics runs the audit systematically, against the full research base, in the time it takes a founder to read the first paragraph of the result. The manual checklist in this post works on any draft. SEMalytics runs it on every page before it ships, without the bias of the author who already knows what the content is supposed to say.
